The World's Largest Driving Lesson Record Attempt
The World’s Largest Driving Lesson was launched as a new signature event of the Fatality Free Friday National Road Safety Campaign and took place on Wednesday 28 April 2010. The event was a world first and launched a month of activities centred on road safety and reducing Australia’s road fatalities.
The World’s Largest Driving Lesson is seen as a way of highlighting the importance of reducing fatalities and crash-related injuries on Australia’s roads. Professional training of new drivers is a key component in reducing road trauma, particularly amongst young drivers.
The Record Attempt

Over 180 cars - more than 360 students and instructors - took part nationally.
The students practiced smooth steering and driving technique, safe following distances, cornering, reversing and parking.
We'd like to thank all of the driving schools, instructors and students who took part.
The number of participants is now being verified and the record will be announced shortly - with the intention to beat it next year!
