Fatality Free Friday 2010 'Empty Shoes' Display in Melbourne

There were marquees erected, but fortunately there were only a couple of light showers.

Lots of people stopped to see the 1500 pairs of empty shoes, and read what they signified. At that point we answered questions about the significance of the shoes, and gave out leaflets for Road Trauma Support Services.

A large crowd gathered when the celebrities gave their speeches, and the press and television cameras were on hand.

FFF Patron Bev Brock, also Patron for Road Trauma Services in Victoria, racing car driver Mark Winterbottom, Victorian Roads Minister Tim Pallas and Deputy Police Commissioner Ken Lay were the speakers.
