Victorian Transport Accident Commission Joins Fatality Free Friday

The Victorian TAC is proud to join with its Victorian road safety partners in supporting Fatality Free Friday on 28 May 2010 with the aim to make drivers consciously think about road safety and safe driving every time they are out on the road.

In 2009, Victoria recorded its lowest road toll since records began in 1952 with 290 people losing their lives on Victorian roads during the year.

Despite the road toll reducing dramatically in recent years, hundreds of families are still losing loved ones on our roads. Thousands more are seriously injured.

Everybody needs to remain vigilant and take their responsibilities on the roads very seriously.

The effects of road trauma are often devastating and can be far worse than anything you will ever see in a TAC advertisement.

Fatality Free Friday is a great way of increasing the community’s awareness of the need to drive safely.
